Hands holding a bag of Minutes sleep gummies in bed
One bag is 28 nights. One night is six blackberry gummies.

I've always struggled with sleep, and even more with winding down before bed. When I took something to help, I paid for it in the morning. I'd get to sleep, then wake up groggy.

Eventually I found three ingredients that helped me wind down: saffron, magnesium and L-theanine. I kept quitting them anyway. Pills felt like medicine. Powders were a project at 10pm. And the gummies I liked were basically candy, with doses too small to matter.

So I set out to make the thing I couldn't buy: a gummy I'd actually take every night, at doses that mean something. That's when the manufacturers started giving me advice.

What they told us, and what we did

  1. They saidDon't put that much magnesium in.

We did120mg of elemental magnesium, every night. A real dose takes up a lot of room in a gummy, which is the main reason Minutes is six of them.

  2. They saidDon't pay for glycinate. Use mostly oxide, with a little glycinate so the label can still say glycinate.

We didAll of it is glycinate, about 1g of magnesium glycinate a night. Oxide is cheaper. It's also poorly absorbed.

  3. They saidDon't pay for the branded saffron. Customers don't know the difference.

We did28mg of Affron®. That's the saffron extract from the sleep study further down this page, at the dose the study used. It helps you stay asleep through the night.†

  4. They saidUse sugar alcohols and carrageenan. It makes the gummy easier to make.

We didNeither. The gummy is a tapioca and pectin base, sweetened with 2g of real sugar across all six.

  5. They saidIt's impossible. You'll have to change your specs or compromise.

We didWe kept going. After many rounds of formulation, we found the right partner to make it, with every dose the way we wanted it.

I sell this, so I'll show my work instead of asking you to trust me.

The research

What the saffron study found

Adults with poor sleep took Affron® saffron or a placebo every day for 28 days. Researchers tracked their insomnia scores on a scale of 0 to 28, where lower is better. Most of the people who finished were women, and their average age was about 50.

Points dropped in 28 days. Bigger bar is better.
0 4.0 saffron, 28mg 1.3 placebo
About three times the improvement of placebo.†

The study tested the saffron extract on its own, at 28mg a day, not our gummy. It ran 28 days, which is why a bag is 28 nights.

No melatonin, nothing to wear off

Waking up groggy was my problem, so Minutes has no melatonin and no sedative. There's nothing left to wear off in the morning.

Labels were the other reason. When researchers tested 25 melatonin gummies in 2023, 22 were off from their labels by more than 10%. One had almost three and a half times the amount it listed. Every amount in Minutes is printed, and an independent lab tests it.

Six gummies, thirty seconds

Making it easy to take was the part I cared about most. A sleep routine has to survive the nights you have no discipline left. None of mine did.

Minutes is six jammy blackberry gummies. All six take about 30 seconds. No water, no mixing, no pills to swallow.

Common questions

Will I feel groggy in the morning?

There's no melatonin and no sedative in Minutes, so there's nothing left to wear off when you wake up.

My mind won't settle at bedtime. Is this for me?

That was my trouble too. Saffron, magnesium and L-theanine are the three ingredients that helped me wind down, and Minutes puts all three in one night. It's built to calm the mind and support restful sleep.† You have 28 nights to see if it helps you.

Can I take it with my medications?

Minutes is saffron, magnesium and L-theanine, with no hormones and no sedatives. If you take any medication or manage a medical condition, show your doctor or pharmacist the doses on this page before you start. The same amounts are printed on the label. That matters most if you take an antidepressant (SSRI or SNRI) or a prescription sleep medicine, if you have kidney problems, or if you're pregnant or nursing.

When does the next bag come, and how do I cancel?

With Subscribe & Save, the next bag is charged 4 weeks after you order, so it arrives about when the first one runs out. We email you 3 days before every charge, with a link to skip or cancel in two clicks, or email hello@getminutes.co and we'll cancel it for you. There's no minimum. If you're still deciding when that reminder comes, skip the bag. The guarantee on your first bag doesn't change. If a bag has been charged and hasn't reached you yet, email hello@getminutes.co and we'll cancel and refund it.

I fall asleep fine, then wake at 3am. Will this help?

It might. The saffron in Minutes helps you stay asleep through the night.† You have 28 nights to find out, and if it doesn't help, one email gets you a refund.

Why six gummies instead of one?

Because of the doses. The magnesium alone takes up a lot of room in a gummy. I'd rather split one night into six small gummies than shrink a dose.

I take melatonin now. How do I switch?

The NIH says melatonin isn't associated with physical dependence, so most people simply swap on the same night. Take Minutes in place of melatonin. Don't take both. If you're unsure, ask your doctor.
